What is the Secret Life of the Forest about?

The Secret Life of the Forest is Blue Mountain Television’s newest production. This outstanding work is a 13-part series that is the exploration of the natural history of the northern Blue Mountains in northeast Oregon and southeast Washington. It is narrated by Mike Denny, who has spent 40 years studying the Blue Mountains and everything in them.  Denny’s extensive knowledge of the soils, plants, trees, insects, reptiles, and mammals will reveal connections and functions most do not know.  Creation has definite design and has a purpose and meaning that we have lost connection with.

“Many are the ways in which God is seeking to make Himself known to us and bring us into communion with Him. Nature speaks to our senses without ceasing. The open heart will be impressed with the love and glory of God as revealed through the works of His hands. The listening ear can hear and understand the communications of God through the things of nature. The green fields, the lofty trees, the buds and flowers, the passing cloud, the falling rain, the babbling brook, the glories of the heavens, speak to our hearts, and invite us to become acquainted with Him who made them all.”  {SC 85.1}

Nehemiah 9:6 (KJV)  “Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.”

This wonderful series is great for the entire family.

“Parents may do much to connect their children with God by encouraging them to love the things of nature which He has given them, and to recognize the hand of the Giver in all they receive. The soil of the heart may thus early be prepared for casting in the precious seeds of truth, which in due time will spring up and bear a rich harvest.” {CG 48.2}

In this program, we will witness the penetrating yellow eyes of a Great Gray Owl, see the intense purple blooms of Dwarf Mimulus, watch the sapphire blue feathers on a Mountain Bluebird and marvel at the fall colors of the Western Larch. So, come explore a mountain range that will wet your appetite for more knowledge about this amazing range of spectacular mountains that most folks do not even know exists.

“The whole natural world is designed to be an interpreter of the things of God. To Adam and Eve in their Eden home, nature was full of the knowledge of God, teeming with divine instruction. To their attentive ears it was vocal with the voice of wisdom. Wisdom spoke to the eye and was received into the heart, for they communed with God in His created works.” {CG 45.3}

Come, see, explore and discover a living landscape that will submerge you in a life-changing experience.
